Confined Space Supervisor

 

Duration and Focus:

This one (1) day course is focused on supervisors understanding their responsibilities according to the legislation. They must know the existing risks and the control measures to control these risks.

 

Requirements:

People who want to access must be in adequate physical condition, have aptitude for work at height and confined spaces, and be in possession of a valid Level 3 Safety Certificate at Height.

 

Who should attend?

Supervisors work in confined spaces or persons under their control workers performing work in confined spaces.

  • Consequences of the accident.
  • Relevant legislation
  • Definition and recognition of confined spaces.
  • Examples of confined spaces and categories.
  • Hazards and control measures.
  • Risk assessment, safe work system, work procedure.
  • Use of gas monitors.
  • Lockout and tagout.
  • Lockout / tagout requirements.
  • Confined space staff and teamwork.
  • Individual protection equipment.
  • Selection of escape breathing apparatus, controls and their location.
  • Types and characteristics of respiratory systems.
  • Work at height and other static syndrome.
  • Emergency procedures, communications and rescue disposition.
  • Practical evaluation of confined spaces.

 

Students per instructor: six (6)

 

Certification:

The student who passes the course receive a certificate which is valid for one (1) year. The validity of this certificate is subject to the annual update of the technicians High Safety Level certificate.
