Height Safety in Overhead Systems

 

Duration and Focus:

In this half a day course (0.5) day it is aimed at those who work at height who have access to anti-fall systems above their head.

This course is theoretical-practical, those attending this course will learn to identify anomalies in the system, good practices of the installed system and the applicable rescue systems.

 

Requirements:

People who want to attend the course must be in adequate physical condition, have verifiable experience and be in possession of a valid Level 3 Height Safety certificate.

 

Who should attend?

This course is intended for technicians who may need to access overhead fall protection systems . Example:

  •  Docks for loading and unloading trucks,
  • Train maintenance docks,
  • Pipe racks ,
  • Smart warehouses.
  • Platforms for access to forklifts, etc.

 

Content:

  • Relevant health and safety legislation in the country and operating standards.
  • The dangers of working at height.
  • How to assess hazards and implement control measures.
  • How to use protective equipment in different situations.
  • Inspection, care and maintenance of fall protection equipment.
  • Use of retractable anti-fall systems, double anchor slings with shock absorber.
  • Recognize and how to act in case of suspension trauma or Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.
  • Rescue plan and procedure.
  • Demonstration of rescue techniques.

Students per instructor: six (6)

 

Certification:

The student who passes the course receive a certificate which is valid for one (1) year. The validity of this certificate is subject to the annual update of the technicians High Safety Level certificate.
