Rescue at Height Level 1

 

Duration and focus:

This two (2) day course is intended for those working at height who may need to perform a buddy rescue in a variety of scenarios. Those attending this course will learn to recognize the origin of the accident, identify the risks to which they may be exposed during the rescue in order to implement the necessary control measures and evaluate the feasibility of a rescue, following a method that guarantees the protection of the injured person and the procedure to rescue the injured person from outside or inside the scene of work at height.

 

Requirements:

People who want to access this course must be in adequate physical condition, have verifiable experience and be in possession of a valid Height Safety Level 3 certificate.

 

Who should attend?

This course is intended for technicians working in the world of construction, oil and gas, renewables, etc. and that they may need to perform a rescue during work activities at height.

 

Contents:

  • General requirements to perform a rescue.
  • Rescue plan and risk analysis.
  • Emergency procedure.
  • Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, care of the injured and stabilized them.
  • Characteristics and limitations of rescue equipment.
  • Maintenace and inspection of rescue devices.
  • Rescue of the conscious or unconscious victim.
  • Rescuing a victim within or out of reach of the rescuer
  • Setbacks that we may have when we are carrying out a rescue and that may affect our safety or that of the injured person.

 

Students per instructor: six (6)

 

Certification:

The student who passes the course receive a certificate which is valid for one (1) year.

The validity of this certificate is subject to a yearly update of the height safety certificate Level 3 technicians.
