Supervisor Height Safety

 

Duration and focus:

This two (2) day course aims to understand the importance of supervision of work at height, the responsibilities of the supervisor according to the relevant legislation.

The supervisors for work at height play a very important role in the safety of the technicians since they must monitor that the working conditions are safe. Supervisors should have a broad view of the stage of execution of work, know the site characteristics, the dangers  and appropriate control measures to eliminate or mitigate them effectively.

 

Requirements:

Attendees should have demonstrable experience working height and different scenarios in which these works are performed and a certificate Safety Height Level 3 force.

 

Who should attend?

Supervisors or any person responsible for personnel who perform activities at height must attend this course.

 

Contents:

  • Understand the legislative requirements imposed on them.
  • Understand the risks to which technicians are exposed .
  • Knowledge of the risks of the scenario where the work is carried out.
  • Effectively control hazards , eliminating or minimizing their consequences for the safety and health of workers
  • Risk assessment, work methods and work permits, general safety of employees and third parties.
  • Understand the importance of having and following a work procedure.
  • Understand the hierarchy of job execution. The order of this hierarchy should always be: collective protections, restraint    systems, systems against falls.
  • Recognize when the personnel performing the work need to be in possession of other certifications or need for specific training to perform the work or to access safely.
  • Security of tools and objects during work, as well as protection when these cannot be secured.
  • Equipment inspection and record keeping requirements: selection, use, and maintenance of fall protection equipment
  • Rescue plan, self-rescue and evaluation of the various scenarios where access, egress and work are carried out.
  • Signalling protection requirements for working personnel or third parties not involved in the operation.
  • Students per Instructor: ten (10)

 

Certification:

The student who passes the course gives a certificate valid for one (1) year, but the validity of this certificate may be affected if the candidate does not have a valid Safety at Height Level 3 certificate.
